7. Case Study: The Medical Spectrum Center – Deir-ez-Zor
Our center in Deir-ez-Zor (“Medical Spectrum”) serves as a living model proving the efficiency of “Option A” (Comprehensive Center). The Association operates a three-story villa, ensuring the following services:
- Ground Floor: Reception, Internal Medicine, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Rehabilitation, and Pharmacy.
- First Floor: Psychiatric clinic, Psychosocial Support (PSS) rooms, and a Training Hall.
- Second Floor: Sewing and Hairdressing workshops.
In this center, we implemented projects in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), providing thousands of free consultations and community services, making it a ready-made model for replication in any other governorate.
8. Inspiring Success Stories
Success Story (1): From Despair to Hope.. From Need to Giving Beneficiary: “M” – Middle School Student
During a routine field monitoring tour, the Association’s team met “M,” a third-year middle school student. “M” had survived a tragic accident that resulted in the amputation of his lower limbs, forcing him to drop out of school and beg on the streets to survive.
The team saw beyond his disability and recognized a determined young man deserving of a better future. We invited “M” to visit the Syria Pulse Community Center in Deir-ez-Zor, beginning his journey of true empowerment. He was enrolled in a computer training course, where he demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication, achieving excellent grades.
In recognition of his determination, the Association decided not just to support him financially, but to formally employ him as a receptionist at the center. Today, “M” is an active and effective element in the humanitarian and community work, serving other beneficiaries. His story proves that disability was not the end, but rather the beginning of a new path to success.
Success Story (2: The Breadwinner Who Became a Trainer Beneficiary: A sole provider for her ill mother
This woman was forced to sacrifice her future and aspirations to care for her sick mother and support her family after a painful divorce from a husband who did not value her struggles. Facing life’s challenges alone, she turned to Syria Pulse Association for support.
She attended several awareness sessions and psychosocial support (PSS) sessions, which helped her regain her self-confidence and visualize a future. Following the advice of the PSS team, she decided to pursue vocational training and enrolled in a sewing course.
She displayed high commitment and skill, prompting the Association to hire her in the center’s workshop. We did not stop there; the team worked to further develop her skills to include household waste recycling. Today, she is not only a supervisor but also provides training courses for other female breadwinners in both sewing and recycling, becoming a living model of women’s empowerment and breaking the cycle of poverty.
